The RDP Electronics S7MZ strain gauge amplifier is a carrier based amplifier specifically designed for use with strain gauge transducers, very low output LVDT transducers and, with external bridge completion can be used with 1/4, 1/2 and full bridge strain gauges. The S7MZ is powered from 110/220V ac.
The tough aluminium case encloses a fully adjustable and configurable signal conditioning amplifier which can be matched with the strain gauge transducer to give output in voltage or 4-20mA. Although both voltage and 4-20mA outputs are available in parallel, they have common calibration controls.
The high level of environmental protection allows the amplifier to be situated close to the transducer, even if the transducer is located on a dirty or wet machine.
The S7MZ signal conditioning amplifier unit has variable excitation and includes a shunt calibration facility. The shunt calibration facility can also be activated remotely allowing a calibration check as part of a machine self-check facility for example. Many RDP Electronics strain gauge type transducers have this facility.
